Birkill Physiotherapists is a registered physiotherapy practice with a special interest in sports and orthopaedic injuries. Our practice has been helping patients since 2008.

Our mission is to help our patients become pain-free and moving better and faster than before. Each one of our team brings their own specials skills within the fields of sport and orthopaedic rehabilitation. We are proud to work together to ensure we are providing the best treatment possible to assist our patients on their path to recovery.

We are located at Sports Medical Centre, Loftus Park and at Hatfield Wellness in Pretoria. We see both in-hospital patients and outpatients.

PHILOSOPHY
BIOMECHANICAL ASSESSMENT
AND CORRECTION

We are trained to do a thorough biomechanical and postural assessment to determine any abnormal load in your body. We pay particular attention to your joint mobility and muscle strenghts and weaknesses

EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION

The only way to meet your body's specific needs is to develop a unique, individualized exercise program through targeted assessments. We only prescribe what is best and most efficient for each patient.

SCREENING AND PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT

We start by identifying the current musculoskeletal condition of the athlete.  This physical assessment allows us to identify past and current in juries and help us to manage the condition and preventing further injury.

THERAPEUTIC TECHNIQUES AND TREATMENT

These techniques are focussed on treating different structures of the body such as muscle, fascia and joint with the aim of decreasing pain, increase your range of motion, increase circulation and more. 

SERVICES
AQUAKINETICS

We are extremely excited to inform you that we are one of the very few practices offering AquaKinetics.

 

Our Aqua sessions are multipurpose and can be used to great benefit, from acute rehabilitation right through to sport performance enhancement.

 

We make use of "Drag Resistance Equipment" instead of Buoyancy equipment. Our equipment is state of the art; comes from the USA thanks to Aqualogix. We are in the process of creating options to stock these products ourselves. This way our community could purchase his/her own equipment for home training. Please watch this space!
